The Challenge – God has blessed New Life with a dynamic outreach to our community that brings ever-increasing ministry opportunities and challenges, creating a need for a dedicated campus designed to facilitate the mission God has given us.
The Method – Seeking God’s will as a community of believers, committing ourselves to sacrificially give above and beyond our regular giving for the next three years.
Our Part – To take a spiritual journey with God, asking Him to reveal through prayer the specific part of this >>READY! campaign. He has resourced us to faithfully and sacrificially meet.
Biblical Stewardship Models
The Bible provides the accounts of four successful giving events. These examples reveal principles that can be effectively applied to our >>READY! campaign. We encourage you to read these stories, and allow God to speak to you through them. As we partner with God, He will do the same through us!
Building the Tabernacle – Exodus 35 & 36
Having just been freed from slavery to the Egyptians, the Israelites made their way through the Sinai Wilderness toward their promised land. Job One was to build a place of worship – the Tabernacle. When provided the opportunity to give, these former slaves gave freely and abundantly, so much so that they were asked to stop giving. Enthusiastically they completely met the needs for their place of worship.
Building the Temple– I Chronicles 29
King David began preparing for this magnificent building that his son, Solomon, would eventually construct. Starting with his own sacrificial gift, he challenged the leaders and people to join him in giving to provide a permanent place of worship for God. Once again, God’s people enthusiastically and sacrificially gave more than was needed to build the Temple.
The First Church– Acts 4:32-37
Shortly after the first church was established in Jerusalem immediate and pressing needs surfaced. How would this fledgling community of believers meet this daunting challenge? Led by God, a spirit of giving swept through this church to such an extent that the Bible says: “No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had...those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed according to need.” Barnabas, one of the leaders, led the way by selling his personal property and giving the proceeds to the church, in order to meet the needs of other Christians.
A Special Offering– II Corinthians 8-9
The Apostle Paul instructed Titus, the first-known Campaign Director, to lead the church in Corinth, Greece, in a giving campaign designed to help the poverty-stricken believers in Jerusalem. Using the example of the Macedonian Christians, the members of this church were challenged to give joyfully, intentionally, and sacrificially.
